Sagi Brody is 10Forward Advisor’s principal consultant. With a career spanning over two decades in the tech industry, Sagi has become a recognized authority in the fields of cloud, cybersecurity, interconnection, and backups & disaster-recovery.
Sagi was the co-founder and Chief Technology & Product Officer of Webair, a leader in the managed hybrid cloud and disaster-recovery space. Sagi was responsible for all product development, R&D, software development, and technical go-to-market. Additionally, Sagi architected all backend infrastructure, including multi-tenant compute and storage platforms, OSS/BSS, single-point-of-truth, and accounts receivable software, a global network of data center deployments, accompanying IP transit and transport networks, and multiple layers of security protection.
His hands-on approach ensured he was at the epicenter of product development, maintaining feedback loops between customers, sales, operations, and industry analysts, ensuring a streamlined and responsive product development cycle. In 2021, Webair’s rapid growth eventually led to a successful exit to private equity. Sagi remained on as the organization’s technical leader and successfully merged 2 additional organizations into the platform, which was eventually rebranded as Opti9 Tech.
Sagi Brody has made significant contributions to the business continuity and disaster recovery (BCDR) industry including Backups-as-a-Service (BaaS), and Disaster-Recovery-as-a-Service (DRaaS). His achievements have led to recognition by esteemed industry analysts, including Gartner, IDC, Forrester, and S&P Global Market Intelligence (Formerly The 451 Group). The services he built have been featured in over 20 analyst reports, including Magic Quadrants, Market Guides, and MarketScapes, highlighting his ability to demonstrate differentiation and value in highly competitive industries.
Veeam Software, the leader in data protection and recovery solutions, has also recognized Sagi's contributions. Under Sagi’s technical leadership, Opti9 became one of the top 3 global Veeam service providers - and the only with a dual designation of also being a technology alliance partner. He has also been distinguished as one of ~50 Veeam Vanguards for over 4 years, placing him amongst the top thought leaders within the community. Sagi has been a featured keynote speaker at VeeamON conferences and similar events. The products he developed have won industry accolades, including the 2023 Veeam Innovation Award.
Sagi's experience extends to the broader internet infrastructure community. He has been a member of groups such as the NYC CTO Club, the Avant Communications Security council, and the HIMSS technology task force. Additionally, he has and currently serves as a board member of organizations such as NYNOG, Open-IX, LISTNet, and others. These platforms allow Sagi to help advocate for an open & transparent internet, proliferate operations-based best practices, and ensure knowledge transfer to aspiring engineers. Sagi also sits on advisory and director boards for multiple private companies, providing guidance and foresight matched with personal strategic investments.
